Update 3


Enemy Spawning: spawning in enemies has now been set to having designated "nodes"  for the enemies to spawn at. Currently the enemies will just spawn in with no animation. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Enter the Gungeon, I am attempting to place in a quick animation for the enemies as they spawn in. A couple of ideas I've thought of for the spawn animation would be either a portal opening up and closing (taking inspiration from an enemy spawn animation from a childhood game I played, Crash Twinsanity) and the other idea for a potential spawn animation, a flash-bang goes off and when cleared the enemies emerge. That one might be better in the style that the enemies are generic military guards but in the absurdity of the game being themed around a cat running about with a gun the first idea of a portal could potentially fit too. I shall ask/get feedback on which people think may be a better fit. 

Ui: The health bar is very lackluster right now. A score system to track the points the player has collected from killing enemies will be added. These two things will be addressed during the coming week as its a point for the weekly devlog. A nice touch I think I'll add to the health bar would be a border. A simple fix to it. The health bar is also bugged and not reducing when damage is taken, seeking help on this one. 

Things I'd like to add: 
- decorative sprites: make the map less empty and give it a better feel. 
- sound effects: gun fire, damage taken. 
- particle effects: gun fire and taking damage would benefit from these. Adds that extra touch instead of the bullets just disappearing into thin air. For damage, could resemble a blood spurt? 
- music: gotta have something to fit the tone of the game and jam to.
